Hi all, just trying a different approach to a long long standing problem.
Was there ever a naming convention in England, such as first daughter named after maternal grandmother, first son after paternal grandfather?
And how about a forename just being omitted completely from one branch of a family but retained for generation after generation by another?
Straw clutching in the extreme going on here today.
