To further my enquiries into my family tree, Could anyone tell me the main contact agency/ website in the United Kingdom in regards to adoption research?

Your helpful advise has led me in the right direction .The Directgov website has a step by step guide in helping me trace my adopted relative.
Other sites I have tried have been unhelpful in my research.

If you need any specific help can I suggest you post a query in our Adoption/Reunion forum, although I should point out that we do not allow you to publish the names of people who might be living. We have quite a few members who are experienced in adoption research and hopefully they might be able to help if you get stuck, or at least give you some advice as to the best way to proceed.
