  • Combining two pictures together

Hi, Dont know if this is possible or how easy to do, but I am best man in a few weeks time and was wondering if it was possible to merge/combine two pictures of the happy couple from when they were children, into one picture, to make it look like they were together then. Have a large collection of pics to work with, dont know if its a question of replacing one person with another in a picture of a question of adding a fresh person to a picture?
any help or advice as always appreciated.

If you have a photo editing program that uses layers, it is fairly straightforward - but may take some time and not a little patience.

If you Google "to merge two images", there is a choice of videos to watch to help you step-by-step.

I know Photoshop uses layers. Have a read through the thread "Photo Restoration Package", below. It seems you can have a trial of some programs rather than buy immediately, which might meet your need.

Also, Which magazine is recommending a free web-based editing service: Pixlr Photo Editing Services. Haven't looked at it but it could be worth exploring. They say it is very quick and easy to use and "What surprised us also about Pixlr is it's depth and power. You can remove a person, work with layers and access many of the features that free software often lacks."

One of the really excellent photographers here on FTF may be able to help you more directly.

Paul you can download a free trial to Photoshop Elements 9,photoshop cs5,or paint shop pro.you could try any of these as they will all do the job.Or you could post a couple of photos on here and see what results you get,It does not matter how many people are in the photo we only need to know the two you want in a new photo .

]Please note that images I restore are only temporarily kept on photobucket

[/B]FOR RESTORATIONS PLEASE SCAN ALL PICS AT 300-600 dpi

None of your links are working Paul. You need a password to access the first two links, and there is a "page not found" error on the last one.

Thanks Roy. Like the work you have done to the girls hand.I took easy way out and reversed photo, adding limbs a step to far at the moment, its a difficult thing to get to look right on the photo.
