I have an instance of a widow calling herself a spinster at her next marriage and a widow at the third.No doubt she had her reasons.

I'm glad you asked, this, Val, as I've been asking myself the same question - 3 lots of banns over 4 years between the same couple, in the 1st two he's a widower, and in the third and in his marriage, he's a bachelor.

They don't make it easy, do they!
