I badly need help in searching for the military records for John Joseph Holden, b.15/08/1902, Blackburn, Lancs. Parents - Charlotte andRichard Holden. I have looked myself but with no success. Also looked for a record of his death - again no success. I do know he survived the war(s) and was still alive in 1951.

As his service is post-WWI you won't find anything online. Go to the url below which will tell you how to apply; the cost is £30.

Get military records of service for the Royal Navy (including Royal Marines), British Army and Royal Air Force - who can apply, how long it takes, cost, how to apply.

This looks like a possibility, birth date is a couple of days out but people do make misatkes. I'll check it out. Val.

If he was born in Blackburn he wouldn't have been registered in Manchester though.

              More likely this one:

John Joseph Holden Sept 1902 Blackburn 8e 411. (Also on Lancsbmd, of course)

              Parents marriage?

Richard Holden to Charlotte Mary Andrews 1895, Blackburn Register Office or Registrar attended. (Lancsbmd)
