  • King Edward's Refuge?

    Hello,

I was wondering if anyone knows if the records for King Edward's Refuge or Ragged School have been digitized. I see that the records do exist at LMA and that they are part of a group of records that are being digitized on Ancestry but I can't actually figure out if they have been done yet. I'm looking specifically for records from the 1870s.

Any information about the institution would also be appreciated!!

On a quick look I cannot see that they have been digitised on Ancestry as yet.
I think any School records would be included in the Poor Law Record section - click here for link
You then need to select the Borough / Por Law Union / Record Type / Section from the drop down boxes on the right of the page.

I've been trying to work out which borough it was in - was it Whitechapel???

Thanks Elaine. It was in Stepney - I think. I did look for it in the Poor Law Record but thought perhaps I was doing something wrong. I wish Ancestry would let you search for records in the search field.
