  • What happened to William Mitchell

    Hi,
One of the candidates for my ancestor is William Mitchell, age 16 in the 1851 census. Living with his parents John (warehouseman) and Ann in Hamlet of Mile End Old Town. I haven't been able to identify him clearly after the 1851 census.

Can anyone find him after 1851? Find a burial record for him? Even eliminating him from the searching would be progress!

    Other odds and ends:
    * We believe this William Mitchell was baptized in 1844, with his next three siblings, in St Dunstans

    * Mother's maiden name was Coverly. She and John didn't marry until 1856 (he was a widower at that time; she a "spinster")

        Val -
Sorry, but I have problems taking the URL, as I'm using a library account to look at the entries. Could you give me details so I could search?

I'm pretty sure I found the 1901 reference you gave, but not the 1861.

        Thanks!

        Sarah
