  • John McCusker - is he "mine"?

It is quite interesting in find my past if I just put the name McCusker.
The name John McCusker appears twice as a deserter from the British Army in Other Records Collection.

Concerning my great-great-grandfather John McCusker, the Galway Family History Society gave me the following church burial record:
    "Church of Ireland, Athenry, Galway
    John McCusker
date of death: 17 October 1882, age 62, Moor Park, Gate Lodge.".
So he was born about 1820 which would fit both records.
The summary for one, which I think to be the more likely as his father Francis may have been the one listed in the Tithe Applotment Records in the parish of Aghalurcher, townland of Derrycrum in 1833, is
76th Foot, age 19, Aghalogher, Fermanagh, Labourer, 21 October 1840.
The summary for the other is
38th Foot, age 20, Enniskillen, Fermanagh, Labourer, 25 November 1839.

My John McCusker married in 1848 in Clogher, Co. Tyrone. His first child of whom I have a record was born in 1851 in Brookborough/ Maguires Bridge, Fermanagh.
