    Could someone please have a look and see if any Attewells are living on Hillary Street in Leeds on the 1891 and 1901 censuses. They are at no 37 Hillary Street in 1881 - Father John, mother Martha, children George, Lilian and Agnes. I can't find them at all after that. Lilian dies in Leeds in 1892, George in 1897 and Agnes in 1908. Martha dies in 1923, and according to the Probate record, at that time she is living at 16 Hillary St. No idea what happened to John

    This is them in 1881 - http://search.ancestry.co.uk/iexec?h...=&pid=24923781 Class: RG11; Piece: 4535; Folio: 50; Page: 2;

    Thanks

        Thanks Polly, that narrows down when John died too - wonder why I couldn't find them on Ancestry? Will have a go with the Ref no's - aha in 1891 they were transcribed as Altewell and in 1901 as Whewell! Have entered amendments, so thanks very much.

          Hi Linda - I couldn't find them on Ancestry either, and I couldn't find them on Findmypast under name search, but found them under address search. Very very strange. Anyway, let me know if you want me to look for them anywhere else!
          Best wishes, Polly

            Thanks Polly, but I've now managed to find John's death - he was under the name of Attwell, so that's all the family accounted for. How sad that all the children died young, I wonder why. Address searching can definitely come in handy, saved me from having to trawl through all of the census for Leeds!
