  • Printer - not wireless

I have a six month old Canon 490/492 printer which is simple and easy to use.

When I purchased it I did not read all the small print and I now find/think that it is not suitable for Wi-Fi. Can I convert this with a dongle or download a suitable driver?

Hope that you understand what I require as I am sure that I have not used all the correct technical jargon.

I have not gone Wi-Fi yet but hope to do so any day now. I will be using a laptop so I presume that I will need to plug in to use it.

If the printer will be resonable close to the router, you could use a wired print server, connected to the router with a standard network cable, and which the laptop can connect to (wirelessly) via the router. This is what I have done.

Something like this is what you need... http://www.ebuyer.com/product/232651
