Is someone able to locate James Hayes, bc 1788 Little Leigh, Cheshire on census for me please? His wife was Ellen, I don't know her birth date.

Thank very much for any assistance.

Have you got a date of marriage? Just wondering if they would be together on the 1841.

there is a James Hayes born abt 1791
        Harriett Ellen Hayes 1821
George Bevan Hayes 1826 living in Wybunbury
        H0107 118 31/8 10

Thanks very much. I wasn't sure if this was the right family, having seen the baptisms. Harriet Ellen's parents were James and Harriet Ellen. I have baptisms for children with parents James and Ellen, in Great Budworth and Little Leigh. James was a blacksmith, so I don't know if this helps?

Hello. Have you tried looking on familysearch.org website. If you look on there and use the new search facility you will find that they have a lot of info. re Cheshire records. If you type in James Hayes name there is quite a bit of info eg a birth for him on 4 April 1788. They may not all be your James Hayes but worth a look.
I am also researching family who lived in Little Leigh and have found this part of the website very useful.

Yes, I have, that's where I have found details of the baptism for James and other information. I was hoping either James or Ellen were on census, to help me find out where/when Ellen was born.

              Thanks for your replies.

not sure that this is the one that he is looking for as this Rev'd James Hayes occupation is Curate of Wynbury.

have you tried tracking the children and their marriages to see if James pops up living with them in later times?

                                  1841, in Barnton!!

Class: HO107; Piece 92; Book: 5; Civil Parish: Great Budworth; County: Cheshire; Enumeration District: 2; Folio: 4; Page: 2; Line: 22; GSU roll: 241233.

                                  John Hages 20 blacksmith!!
                                  Gero Hayes 14
                                  Mary Hayes 12
                                  Ann Hayes 8

all born in county, no parents showing, so presumably James had died and it was left to John to raise the siblings?

Thank you very much for all this fantastic information. No Thomas, but you have found him for later census. Hannah and Elizabeth may have died. And yes, a second marriage for Thomas to another Ann, so thank you for this also. It has helped a great deal.
