  • leeds mercury dated 20th feb 1868

I dont suppose anybody has access to the Leeds Mercury paper dated 20th February 1868.
There is a report of one of my ancestors who died in a boiling VAT on 18th February. I believe it says the name of the firm that he worked for.
    HIram Pickles was his name.

The story might have been syndicated in other papers too. But I don't have access to Gale newspapers on my library ticket.

There's several hits for Hiram Pickles & an article in the Liverpool Mercury 21/2/1868.

PM me your email address & i'll send you a copy.

Will see if I can see any Yorkshire ones.

There's a report in the Leeds Mercury 20/2/1868, the wording is just about the same as the Liverpool Mercury.
