  • Which Riding?

    Looking for a birth in Addle Yorkshire, does anyone know which Riding it would have come under please?

    If I have the correct family Civil reg was Addle County Yorkshire
    Reg district Otley
    Sub Harewood
    Jen

    The Leeds area was in the West Riding. Leeds was the county town.

          It's Adel, and it is now a suburb of Leeds, so West Riding

            Registration County : Yorkshire West Riding.
            Created
            : 1.7.1837.
            Abolished : 1.9.1869 (succeeded by Wetherby and Wharfedale districts).
            Sub-districts : Baildon; Fewston; Harewood; Otley; Yeadon
