  • scottish census- smeaton

hi all, im having a lot of trouble with my cousin's family tree.

1a) im stuck looking for the birth of alexander smeaton, b.1908 from his marriage cert (1928, calton, lanark). his parents are alexander smeaton (illegitimate, b.1866, new monkland, lanark) and margaret reid (b.1868, govan, lanark), married 1897 glasgow. i assume he's born in lanark too, but i cant find it.

1b) i also cant find his parents in 1901 either. i have alexander b.1866 in 1871, he is in new monkland with mother jane smeaton (b.1839, mid calder) who married daniel orr (b.1831 ireland) in 1869. but i cant find him 1881-1901. i have found him on ancestry i think, but not on scotlandspeople?

    Alexander Smeaton- b.1866, glasgow, lanark
    Registration district: Camlachie
    Address: 12 Auburn Pl
    Occupation: Smiths Hammerman

    Margaret Smeaton 32
    Jeanie Smeaton 11

    Jessie Smeaton 5
    John Smeaton 3
    Mary Anna Smeaton 1
