  • Attestation Number ?

Have finally found something on my missing man
Albert Victor Robinson born 1883 Crook in Durham
FMP British Army Service records 1760-1913
says served in The Durham Light Infantry
    Attestation date 10 June 1901 Discharged 9 Jun 1913
    Attestation Soldier Number 7506

I am hoping to find further Army Records on him would that number 7506 be on them ? and if he was discharged in 1913 would he still have had to join up for the 1st World War?

    Thanks

7506 is his regimental number for the time he spent in the Durham Light Infantry.

I think you may find that if he re-enlisted at a later date then he may well have been issued with a different regimental number.

But perhaps both numbers would be on his medal card?
At any rate, they were for one of mine who served with 2 different regs during WW1. But only one of the numbers was on the CWG site, which foxed me no end!

Thanks Janet but I cant find any medal cards for him at the moment ? so maybe he did not serve in the 1st War World? it was suggested he may have emigrated ?
