I am a beginer resrching my family tree I have done quite well using info from living family members and the internet ancestry websites. Unfortunatly I have now come to a shuddering halt as I found the most usefull info was on the census forms and can't go before 1841 or past 1911. I understand that the next census wont be relesed for a few more years can anyone suggest how I might continue my serch. ?

    Hello and welcome to FTF.

From 1911 onwards, mother's maiden names are given in the birth indexes, so you can trace children forwards as long as the names are not too common.

Before 1841 it is necessary to use parish registers for baptisms, marriages and burials. Many prs are online.

Perhaps if you care to post up the details of someone you can't find before 1841, we can guide you to the right resources.

Also look at the tab above - GETTING STARTED - for some useful information.
