  • Did my Dad know his Grandad ?

    Hi everyone,
I am trying to establish if Dad knew his Granadad.
That is my problem as I cant find the death for my Great Grandad.
I have tried before with no joy.
My Great Grandads wife Elizabeth Harvey died in 1934 at 24 Medland Street E.14, the witness was the daughter. (then Elizabeth Webber).
I have my Gt Grandad Thomas Harvey being born in Jan-Feb-Mar 1861 in mile end.
He sometimes has the 2nd name of Joesph ?
In 1911 the family were living in Medland Street E.14
I wonder if anyone might be able to find my Great Grandads death ?
thanks in advance and kind regards......John

Was Elizabeth Harvey described as wife of, or widow of, on her death cert?

      Hi John
Have you checked the one in Jan-March 1935 in Stepney - Thomas J Harvey (aged 72) ref 1c 310 ? Ages are often a couple of years out.
Chrissie passed away in January 2020.

Thanks Chrissie, I think that's the one I already have that turned out to be incorrect ? (I can check when I get home)

Thanks Julie, Yep that tree belongs to a chap that originally got me going on this family history 'lark'.
A bit of a long story (which I can bore you with if you want ), but basically he is distantly related to me.
That's why he has my relatives on his tree, my tree is a bit more comprehensive than his obviously.
                Thanks again......john

Do you know his occupation? There was a brewery at No 12 http://www.pigsear.org.uk/breweryh.html
Poss a bit too early, but mentioned here as well http://booth.lse.ac.uk/cgi-bin/do.pl...ebook&args=a39 I wonder if the local Archives can tell you who was living at the property over a time frame...
