  • Computer speakers

Hey again, me again, I need some speakers for my computer but I'm not sure what sort of thing to go for or how much money to spend in order to get decent ones. I bought two cheap pairs so far, one from ASDA, one set from Argoss both at £7 and both created thin, empty sound. I play music on my computer and watch tv on it so need something with a good quality sound but I don't want to spend more than I need to, I've been going by reviews so far but fat lot of good that has done me. Any suggestions would be welcome! Thanks.

I have these, which have a subwoofer: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Logitech-Z-4...927331&sr=8-16
and these, which are without a subwoofer: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Logitech-Z-1.../dp/B000GU98FM

They're both very good, giving a full, rich sound, but are both older models. I don't think the Z-10 are available anymore.
These appear to be the replacement model for the Z-10: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Logitech-980...dp_ob_title_ce

They're not cheap, but when it comes to computer speakers you get what you pay for.

The first link in my post above shows speakers with a subwoofer - it is the box that sits on the floor to provide the bass tones.

Logitech make cheaper speakers as well: http://www.logitech.com/en-us/speake...me-pc-speakers
Creative is another good brand, and of course there are many other brands too.

I'm afraid that you're going to have to pay quite a bit more than £7 though if you want a full, warm speaker sound. :(

Yup I guessed I'd have to spend more than £7 due to the crappyness of the last two pairs but wasn't thinking of stretching to £90 lol. I didn't spend that on my computer and monitor combined lol. Having said that I don't ned any uber fancy, you know? Just something that delivers a decent sound.

Maybe something like these for £16, with lots of good reviews - people say they have a good bass sound: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Logitech-X-1...cp_computers_1
            or these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Logitech-130...8010410&sr=1-1
Although there are no reviews, except on the .com site: http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-980-0.../dp/B003CP0OT2

Creative make some good speakers as well.
            These get good reviews: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Creative-Ins...8010490&sr=1-1
I also have these, although I wouldn't really recommend them: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Creative-Ins...C2FGWB294FNJED (not bad for the price, but the Logitech X-140 (first link above) are in the same price category and seem a lot better from the reviews)

Thanks for going to that trouble Cloggie, I think I like the look of those £16 Logitech especially as a sound engineer gave them the thumb up. Might go for those, will read through all the reviews first I think then take the plunge on one of them.
