  • Emigration details of Nehemiah Clarke

Can anyone please help me find emigration details of my ancester Nehemiah Clark b1832 in Ely, Cambridgeshire. All i`ve been told is he sailed to New York, then the trail runs dry.
I would love to find out where he lived in America and if he travelled alone.
    Thanks
    Colin

looks like the family arrived New York July 21 1873.

Nehemaiah, wife Betsy and 6 children all travelled.

If this is the right family?

Can't see the family on any census info though.

If this is the right family it looks as though they settled in Troy Township, Wisconsin. If you look on the Family Search Pilot site they are on there in the 1900 US census and you can view the image free. There are other records on there as well

It also directed me to the Family Search Beta site where there mayy be some more records

there wont be an 1890 census for the USA as I believe that they got destroyed, but you should be able to see him on the 1880 census, which is on www.familysearch.org
