Have been looking for my ggggrandfather for a while now and just can't find them 1871.
Here they are 1881
1881 Census RG11/ 824 Folio 104 Pg 33
Living at 4 Challin Street, Penge, Surrey
George Elsden Head Age 36 Occupation Labourman Born Halstead, Essex
Lucy Elsden Wife Age 39 Born Leyton, Essex
George Elsden Son Age 10 Born Penge, Surrey
Elizabeth Elsden Daughter Age 7 Born Penge, Surrey
George and Lucy's birth palce are right as I have their birth certs and also the children except Clara. I have tried many variations on the surname and lots of combinations and just cannot find them. Lucy is also a puzzle as her mother dies so I have no record of her on a census till 1881, her baptism record reads
England & Wales Christening Records, 1530-1906
