  • Lost family Can anyone help?

I have them on 1841 in Marylebone, Middlesex

    Piers Butler, 1806 Ireland
    Jane 1821
    Mary 1826 Ireland
    Piers 1826 Ireland
    Garrat 1827 Ireland
    Theodosia 1832 Ireland
    Henry 1840 Middlesex
    Sarah Shears 1771 Ireland

I can't find any of them again except Mary 1826 who married John Carroll in 1848 in Southwark. I have their marriage certificate with Piers as her father (spelt Pierce) They were my GGGrandparents

    Thanks

    Linda

Can't help directly, other than to suggest what I might do & where I might look...

    1] IGI
2] LMA records on Ancestry - especially Henry
    3] name variants / mistranscriptions
4] look for initials, instead of names (hospital / workhouse / prison) - wildcards in names
5] look for the more unusual Christian names, with other info the same, in later censuses
6] Parish records on FMP - include Docklands parishes
7] Independent church registers, if they were Roman Catholic
    8] back in Ireland?

    Christine
Researching: BENNETT (Leics/Birmingham-ish) - incl. Leonard BENNETT in Detroit & Florida ; WARR/WOR, STRATFORD & GARDNER/GARNAR (Oxon); CHRISTMAS, RUSSELL, PAFOOT/PAFFORD (Hants); BIGWOOD, HAYLER/HAILOR (Sussex); LANCASTER (Beds, Berks, Wilts) - plus - COCKS (Spitalfields, Liverpool, Plymouth); RUSE/ROWSE, TREMEER, WADLIN(G)/WADLETON (Devonport, E Cornwall); GOULD (S Devon); CHAPMAN, HALL/HOLE, HORN (N Devon); BARRON, SCANTLEBURY (Mevagissey)...

      Thanks Christine,

I have done a few searches on other sites but it a rather haphazard fashion. Am going to sit here tonight and have an organised search for them, can't believe with those names I can't find any of them.

      Thanks again
