James Flannigan born about 1880, Hindmarsh, South Australia. This info came from his marriage cert. He married Agnes Ingham in Balmain, Sydney in 10/10/1906. Could someone give me a clue as to where to go from here please. Is there any way to look up information on the internet. I only have a UK Ancestry sub.

His death is registered in 1955 in the registration district of Ashfield (Sydney) - his father's name is shown as John and his mother - Jessie

South Australia does not have on-line access to its BMDs - the SA Genealogy and Heraldry Soc have a transcription service.

Ancrestry does now have some BMDs for South Australia, but so far it only has SA births from 1907-1922.

By the way, are you trying to go backwards or forwards? James and Agnes are on the electoral rolls in NSW from 1930 to 1954 (there are no later elec rolls online yet).

thank you for the death info and ww info Sue NSW. I'm currently visiting my daughter in the Sydney suburbs and was trying to do a bit of research on my in laws family. I'm trying to go back further, Mary from Italy so every little helps. I've had some info about the electoral roles and had a PM about the death cert. How difficult would it be to find out anymore about John Flannigan and Jessie? Do australia have census' in the 1800's? If so, how can I research them. Kyle Justin, how do I look at old threads, please?
