  • death help please

I was looking for a death of George Frederick Pearson b1892. Not sure where or when he died as he went a wandering and never came back. Or so the story goes. Born in Kent. I have found one on deceasedonline and thought I would double check on freebmd as that gives the age at death but unfortunately they dont go up to 1945 yet. Is there another way of finding out the age of the one on deceasedonline? It is in Hornchurch in the London borough of Havering

I've had a look on ancestry which has deaths up to 2005 now searchable by name. I can't see the Hornchurch one. Can you give more details and I'll have another look.

Right found your record on deceasedonline but that is where he was buried so not necessarily where he died.
You could contact the cemetery for more information, otherwise you might need to buy the credits required from deceasedonline to see what else they have.

Thank you for that one Margaret.
does that one give an age?

Curiosity got the better of me so I bought 30 credits for £3 and used 15 of them to take a look at the one at Hornchurch. gives his age as 48 and died near st Barts hospital london. THe age isnt quie right.
I think that site is a last resort type of site as there isnt much detail on there. I suppose if you know when somebody died but not where it may be useful

looking at the image of the index it states "about 1892" and all the rest have birth dates so it means that the informant did not know the exact date of birth, so probably not a relative.

on Ancestry, the GRO death indexes after some mid 1960's give the date of birth instead of the age at death.
So he is not the Frederick George who died in 1980 in Portsmouth because his date of birth is 13 Dec 1892, the other one is the one mentioned by margaretmarch which just gives about when it should give an exact dob

before 1969 death it's first name and initial then surname with age at death.
1969 onwards it's full name with date of birth

Well I never knew that. Mind you I dont have access to ancestry at home so only use it at the library. I believe he was in the Navy so its possible he was in WWI
