  • Help with Liness in Ireland, please

    Hello all,

It's been a while since I posted, but can anyone help with where I can look for Ireland records.
I've been looking at the other side of my niece's family and have traced back to John Liness born in Barrow-in-Furness, c 1877.
His parents are James and Mary, named as 'Linas' on the 1881 census, where they are both shown as being born c1846 in Ireland, and 'Lyness' in 1891 where they are again both born Ireland, but this time in 1836 & 1837.
Looking at the other children in the family, I don't think they were in England for the 1871 census, so now I'm a bit stumped. All my family and my hubby's are English to the year dot, so I've never had to look for Irish stuff before.

    Thanks for looking
    Helen

You could have a look here and see if any of yours have been transcribed yet.

    Familysearch have Irish BMDs too.

Unfortunately there is only the 1901 and 1911 census available.
