    this is what it says where born for someone born in 1873 ? where would I find the Birth record ?
    I looked on the overseas ones on FMP but not found it ?

              I have a brother & sister allegedly born in Johannesburg 1896 & 1898. The 1898 birth is in Consular births, but I can't find anything for 1896.

              Documentation of events in SA looked sparse. I couldn't find a burial for the father, but struck lucky (??) because he enlisted for the Boer War, was kia and so there was reference to a memorial and info about his army career. Other than that, I had to rely on a passenger list to confirm details of his age & occupation.

              So, I think you might have a bit of a job on your hands.
