  • In the army 1881

I have a relative who is in the Army Service Corps based in Aldershot Hampshire in 1881.
He is aged 30 and a Private.
How do I go about tracing his joining up papers. Would it be Kew
    Thank you

You may be lucky and find his papers on FindmyPast.

Whatever has survived for each soldier is kept together so in addition to the discharge documents you may get his attestation documents, medical & disciplinary records etc.

I can back up what the above post has said as I've taken a look at a lot of the Army and other military records on FMP.

You find the service/pension records are similarly grouped where they occur in Ancestry.
