If anyone is going I would be really grateful if they could look at the burial records for Ann's Hill Cemetery Gosport. The death of a John Emery was registered in Sept qtr 1865 Alverstoke.
Thanks to Punches Mum I know he wasn't buried at St mary's Alverstoke or the Haslar Naval Cemetery.
I am looking for a father and son.John snr was born in 1812 and John jnr born 1840.

    Many thanks

    Jan.

I did check Ann's Hill Cemetery records but had no luck. Maybe I missed it. You could try phoning Gosport Borough Council Leisure Services who deal with enquiries re burials.

The direct line phone number is 02392545387. Explain you are out of the area as they do make a charge now for Genealogy Research lookups!

I know another member of this site phoned and was given all the details he needed to find the grave of his Ancestor and I was then able to photograph it for him as there was a kerbstone and inscription. As far as I know, he wasn't charged!
