Can you post a photo showing the problem?

It's difficult to diagnose from here. It might, if you're lucky, just be a loose connection. If anyone/anything has knocked the back of your computer, your graphics card might have been slightly loosened. If you think this might have happened:
1 Very carefully open your PC
2 Before you touch anything inside the PC, touch a radiator, or something metal, to discharge any static you might have in your body.
3 Look at the point where the monitor is plugged in to the PC on the outside, then look at the same point on the inside: this will either be a graphics card, or to the motherboard.
      4. If the monitor is connected to the same large board at the back of the PC that everything else is plugged into it, this is your motherboard (if you already know all this, please forgive me!); if the monitor is plugged into a card that is, in turn, stuck into the motherboard and sticks out at right angles, this is a graphics card.
      5. If the monitor is plugged into the motherboard, this might be an expensive problem to fix. If it's a graphics card, it's a bit cheaper; make sure that the graphics card is firmly attached to the motherboard. In either case, make sure that the lead from the monitor to the PC is very firmly plugged in at either end.

If this doesn't help, you'll need to find a friend or relative who does know their way round the inside of a PC and promise them a large bottle of something nice if they help you!

Sorry not to be more help.

I would suggest that we be able to see the fault, before fiddling inside the computer.

From the very brief description Bren has given, it sounds like the monitor to me.

              Is it similar to this...?

If it is, then it's the monitor. You'll need to replace it unfortunately.
