  • When did they go abroad and where to?

I have the marriage of Sybil Antrobus Cowell to George Robert Davenport (21.03.1889), then nothing until 1899 when George arrives in Southampton from Ensenada, Mexico. Sybil returns to England in 1905, with two sons Edmund Cowell Davenport c.1892 and Geoffrey Cowell Davenport, from Buenos Aires and seemingly settles in Dorset (1911 census). Both Edmund and Geoffrey serve in WWI.

Can someone please help find their departure

A free search on FMP has a male and female ( so presumably) Mr and Mrs G R Davenport travelling to Buenos Aires in 1894 There is also an infant Davenport travelled same year. As doing look ups on FMP are against their terms and conditions (sorry) it might be worth you buying some credits or having a look next time England play in the World Cup when it is free

Do you know what he did? There is a George Robert Davenport (1861 - 1907) who was associated with the Argentine Railways - see brief obit here -

No 8 on here looks to be the baptism of Edmund - and no 43 is Geoffrey - they confirm the father was a civil engineer

Anglican baptisms registered in the archives of All Saints Church--Quilmes between 1892 and 1901 including families living in the Province of Buenos Aires Argentina

Sybil was a witness at a wedding in Quilmes in 1897 - (no 13) http://www.argbrit.org/Quilmes/Qmarrs1892-1900.html

Maybe the shipping entry above was them going back from possibly home leave with Edmund? - The records on FMP only start from 1890 and early ones have very litttle identifying details unfortunately

      Cheers
