I go by the name of Dina, which is short for Geraldine, my father deceased in 2002, his name was Gerald Metcalfe, he was son to Thomas Metcalfe and Isabel (nee Fisher) During my childhood is was kept away from my father and his family due to his motorbike accident that resulted in him becoming brain damaged and thus very violent, In my late 20's I found my father in Seaham in Parklands mental health home, shortly after this he passed away. I have since had word about a family history of breast cancer and the gene test and the girls from my fathers family must take, the Gene specialist needs all my fathers siblings names and d.o.b's, names I know but the rest I dont and trying to find them has lead me to an Aunt whom has sinced passed from the disease.
My father was one off 11 children but I need the dates of the rest, can somebody help me please ??
My grandmother had possible living person born out of wedlock in 1936 in Gt. Ouseburn, she married his father in 1937 and went on to have another 10 children whom then went by my grandfathers name of Metcalfe. They moved about from what I can tell but did stay in Yorkshire, just the ridings boundrys and the stockton/ferryhill/chiltern all seem to change.
I found Patricia in Richmond 1946...And know she died in Beverley.
after that I'm stuck and my time limit is dwinddling to have this form filled and returned to the proffesor

I guess you could try writing to the local papers in Yorkshire requesting any relatives to contact you. They may or may not choose to have the test of course. I presume you've checked for the girls with surname Metcalfe on the marriage indexes?

      Hi Dina,
Welcome to FTF. If you have access to ancestry.co.uk you can search the birth index for any births Metclafe with mother's maiden name Fisher. I can see quite a few in Richmond matching the names you have given but we are not allowed to give details of possible living people on this site so I'll PM you what I've found and you perhaps can check yourself.

Hi Dina, I've just responded to your blog suggesting you add your request in a thread like this and see that you've already done it!! :D

What i did say on the blog though, was that naming of (possible) living persons (born after 1915 with no death details) is against the T&Cs of this site and that's why I have amended your post, as well as the blog. I am presuming that your grandparents have passed away?

However, you can correspond with members via FTF's personal message system, which Margaret has already done.

Welcome to FTF and good luck with your quest

Dina, I've given you a list of names but you really need to get birth certs to check they are the right ones as there were others born Metcalfe with mother's maiden name Fisher, some out of your given area but others possible.
Also of course the women would have different surnames now if married.
