can anyone tell me where I need to look for a family that moved to france, I have them when they came back as the daughter was born there Normandy France as her birth place on the census

I don't think there's a huge amount just yet on the internet for France but you could look in the Wiki on here for some sites to try. I think you would only possibly find BMDs not census data.

There are some French records on the Family Search pilot site, but I don't know how extensive they are. You may be lucky
