I've got worldwide access of Ancestry.co.uk but can't access Ancestry.ca as in your link.

If you can give details of where in Canada you are looking and John's age, I'll have a look at the Canadian census records.

You can access any of the other Ancestry sites just by entering your usual Ancestry user name and password.

The occupations were a bit hard to read, but it helps if you look at the place of work column (col. 22).

John, the head, is a labourer; place: "in the street".
Not sure about Willie - maybe ploughman. The place of work looks like "Harper" - maybe that was his employer's name.
        Thomas: driver, cab stand
        George: washerman, laundry
        Michael: wiremaker, mfg wire

I just had a look but could not make it out.

Jane, I had to put in my user name and password and then I could see the link.

Sorry for the delay in replying - had to get some food sorted.

I came up with the same occupations as Mary - thought it was ploughman with the "h" missing.
