Search problems

One of the surnames I am researching is Ede. However, when I key this into 'Find' I get not only the name Ede but every word that contains the letters 'ede' such as Frederick, redeem etc. I have tried putting quotes round the name, putting a space before and after and also ensuring I use a capital E but this doesn't seem to help. Can somebody please tell me how I can avoid this happening? Thanks.
