  • Help with an occupation please

Hi all, it me asking for help (again!)

I am back on the track on the main trunk of my tree and am looking at the Makey's again.

I have an occupation request, the person concerned is Stephen Makey in the 1841 census, the occupation is clear but I don't know what it means.

It simply says M.S. would anyone have a clue????

Any help would be greatfully received.

Currently researching: Makey (Kent), Heath & Neil (London & Devon), Pegg (Norfolk & Suffolk), Gulliford (Cornwall).... Still busy busy!

Agree with that - it's a recognised abbreviation on census returns
