In my ggg grandmother's letter to her husband & children, she makes repeated references to "Alisse", who she referred to as my gg grandfather George's cousin. Can anyone help me to identify who Alisse was please.
Agnes Smith (nee Weatherstone) had a brother Benjamin, that we know of, she mentions him in her letter but he was unable to visit her in Kelso, so she is clearly staying with another relative. According to the IGI, Benjamin had siblings James & Jessie & the 1841 shows a sister Mary, who I believe is mentioned in the letter as May, but deceased. There is also a possible brother Nichol/Nickel who was witness at Benjamin's marriage.
The letter is written on paper headed Kelso, Scotland, so that would appear to be where she was staying & I have been able to date it as being between 1867, when her youngest son Benjamin (also mentioned in the letter) was born & 1877 when Agnes herself died.
