I was delighted to find my gt grandfather's brother, missing since 1871, on these records last night and used 5 of the 12 credits I had left from the 1911 to view the transcript which confirmed his parish of birth.

(I used another 5 to look at it again this morning, thinking it would be the same system as the 1911 and future access would remain free of charge!!)

There are 6 images available. Before I decide whether to splash out on 60 credits, which only have a 90 day life, can someone please tell me whether I am likely to find information re next of kin, spouse, children etc, on the images, or just details of army service.

My pc is temporarily packed up and I am using daughter's old laptop which has a very temperamental internet connection so, if I disappear, you'll know why.

I also found next of kin on the one I found that has also been missing from my records for many years. Being a common name I was relieved to find the next of kin and address, confirming I had the correct person, otherwise I might still be wondering!

Don't forget to look to see all the pages as I found 8 on mine all very informative.

PS just found one that did not give next of kin so am still left wondering:(

Also just found another which not only gave me father's name as next of kin but also gave me mother's name, two brothers' names and a sister's name as well as his wife's name. I do recognise the names, but have now a whole new area to research as I am sure they are family but........

I now have the images.

In my case, details included name and village of next of kin, and date of discharge and address thereafter.
