As they were 8th in line that day, they probably got fed up waiting especially if the baby/child was fractious.

I had a similar entry by one of my lot's baptisms - in fact there were 2 or 3 the same that day. I put it down to the fact that there were 38 baptisms that day and they got fed up waiting! They had him baptised the next week.

Looks like the baptism took place though - just the paperwork wasn't completed.

I had one that left and couldn't find that they ever returned.

The annoying thing was the baby wasn't named on the register so I still don't know the baby's name. :(
