  • Looking for details of an Inquest

Does anyone have access to on the online newspaper archives?

I am looking for a newspaper article on an inquest as detailed below.

I have a death certificate for Thomas Iles age 67 who died on 5th November 1873 of College Road, Bristol after falling from his loaded cart and having his head crushed by the wheel of his loaded cart.

The inquest was held in 7th November 1873, the corner was Henry Wasbrough.

I have not been able to find a 71 census record for him so I am not a 100% sure I have the correct death record - hence the need for the newspaper report.

My Thomas Holbrook is here in 71

Begin your discovery today by exploring the world's largest online family history resource!

    Thanks for looking.

There's nothing in The Times Online, although I didn't think there would be as it's too local. So I would try the local library & county archives

I looked in both the Times Digital Archive and 19th century newspapers on line (which includes the Bristol Mercury) but could not find a report, even just with "inquest" as the search term for 1873. As it was fairly clear-cut as to the cause of death, the newspaper may not have reported it.

thanks very much for your help.

Where would the orignal inquest report be held and are they accessable to the public?

        thanks.
