  • Is anyone able to do an Emerald Ancestors lookup??

I'd be very grateful for one lookup if anyone has a current sub - don't really want to purchase a month's sub for one record...

I can see from the free search that William Skelly married Isabella in Co. Down in 1874...the full transcription would be very helpful.

    Thanks for reading.
    Kind regards,

Here's the link to the site Kit: http://www.emeraldancestors.com/
I've used it before, but found that most of the records on there that were relevant to my tree were also available elsewhere free of charge (IGI, PRONI, etc.). Coverage may be better for some areas than others, but I've found coverage to be very patchy.

This page explains about what records they have: http://www.emeraldancestors.com/databases/
Note the descriptions like "contains records from a selection of Parish Baptism Registers"

The news page provides more info on specific databases included: http://www.emeraldancestors.com/news/

        Thanks Sarah.

I have one distance Irish relative. I'm not interested enough to pay for information though.

Wendy, that's great - it certainly does...thanks very much for taking the time!

If someone has a sub then I'd still be grateful for the transcription - but I'll try to contact 'budgie' who started the thread and see what they say.

            Thanks again!
            Kind regards,
