Is anyone able to access parish baptisms records for Sawbridgeworth, Herts? Or are there any online from this period?

I am looking for the parents of a Lydia Harris, baptised on 4th June 1780 in Sawbridgeworth

Later married to Harvey Collin in Clerkenwell (but no parents’ details on the marriage register.)

Any help gratefully appreciated.

James

Hi James

Hertfordshire records are all held in Hertford County Hall
Pegs lane Hertford.
They have a family history section for research

There is also a site where the creator offers assistance to people researching Hertfordshire genealogy connections.

IGI also have copies of the records
Reference numbers for Hertfordshire are here

County Hall have a very good family history section and very helpful staff, if you go you need to park at the register block to the side of the main building. Parking is a nightmare there though (I know I used to work at County Hall) if you go early you should be ok.
They also have a large collection of other historic records connected with Hertfordshire and East Anglia including newspapers, books and magazines. With these you do need to know what you are looking for though.
