  • John Cregg. 1891- 41 look- ups please

I can't seem to find my wifes ggrandfather in any of the census 1891 to 1841. His name is John Cregg b 1862 Smethwick , Birmingham.
I've found him in the 1911 and the 1901, but here was listed as Blick ( luckily I knew the address about that time ), lastly he married Eliza Woodard in july 1899 in kings norton.

    Thanks Verjon

Have you any idea of his parents' names? And where was he living in 1901 and 1911? There's a John Craig born in 1861 who appears in the 1861 and 1871 censuses (son of samuel and Jane) but he might be the John Craig who in 1891 is in Long Ditton married to Esther.

      Hi John
On his marriage cert his fathers name was David, and deceased. In the 1901 census he was living in 2 Rose cottage, Cliton Rd. birmingham. But strangely the head of house was Mary Blick, John listed as son and together with his wife and children also Blicks. 1911 he was living in Newport, Mon, as John Cregg.
      Thanks for your reply Verjon
