  • Daniel Pearce Bailey and his wife Maria

Hi it's the to hard basket that has come around. Daniel Pearce Bailey was born in Cold Ash Berkshire 1819 and was alive on the 1861 census as was his wife Maria . So he must have died between 1861 and 1871 ( he was not on the 1871 census ) and I can't find him. His wife Maria is on the 1861 census. Can any one help please

In 1861 they were living at Sonning and Woodley, Berkshire.
The Wokingham registration district includes Sonning so I think it's a good chance that it is the right Daniel.

Hi Sheila, I live near Wokingham, and can tell you that where he lived is just north of Wokingham, and quite near Reading too. Cold Ash is a bit further west, near Newbury. Swallowfield is also in the Wokingham area - it used to be in Wiltshire, but is now in Berkshire. If you want any info about the area, just ask.
