I was looking at a census and noticed three ladies names. The occupation given was Gay Girls.
Just out of interest does anyone know what this means

According to the National Archives website it is one of the many euphemisms found in the census for prostitutes.

Well that is very interesting thank you. I am glad it was not a relation but I must try and find it again because they may have been in a relatives house, but I cant remember
