  • A sometimes problem.

My computer (running Windows XP if that is important) sometimes won't recognise CDs, DVDs or my camera SD card.

If I put a CD or DVD that has been commercially recorded, it is fine. Sometimes it won't recognise CDs or DVDs that have photos, text, etc, that other people have written.

It mostly won't recognise any blank CDs or DVDs.

It does recognise my SD card IF it has new photos on it AND I haven't already used it in the computer that day.

Now this just doesn't make any sense, but i know if I take photos off the card today, then take more photos, the computer won't recognise the SD is even the computer until tomorrow.

    It's fine on other computers.

I've checked the CDs and DVDs on other computers as well.

I remember ages ago having to re-install the drivers.......something about un-installing them and re-booting?????????

    Any ideas???
