  • Record Office: Dundas, Scotland lookup please.

My grandfather is supposed to have served his apprenticeship for bakery in Dundas.

Name William Laughlan (tho could be spelt Laughland Lachlan Loughlin Laughlin) was born in Cronberry, Auchinleck, Ayr on 2 August 1858.

He sailed to Australia in 1884 aged almost 26.

He was said to have run away to sea and sailed on the "Cutty Sark" before returning to his trade as a baker.

I hope that is enough information. I'm guessing sometime in between 1872 & 1878. (but really only a guess)

Is someone able to locate his apprenticeship info?

    Judy
