    correct me if I'm wrong but I read Christian Austins occupation as Land & Houses
    Yet on FMP it says Law Stationer ???????????? thought FMP was the best site for Census records ???????? humph

                Lace Warehouse man is what I think as I have a number of census entries for my lace warehouseman relatives but there appears to be a strange "letter after lace

                      many errors are because non-English speakers do much of the initial transcribing. They have no real working knowledge of the old script flourishes/occupations etc . For many many transcriptions, one site we all know actually let pass the martial state of 'windower' , where anybody familiar with english would know it had to be 'widower'.
