  • WWI pension records

A challenge for you all - I have been told that there may be records on Ancestry regarding my GF's WWI service. Unfortunately the link to the page wasn't kept and now we can't find it again.

The details to the records found are:

Harry Brown, born 1892. Enlisted 28/2/1915, discharged 30/3/1919. Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire Regiment.
    Regimental No: 1979/265270.

If anyone can find a record that has these details, I will be extremely grateful.

    Hi Linda

I've just taken a look on Ancestry...there are so many Harry Brown born 1892 and without opening each record it would be hard to tell if the right Harry has been found.

It might help if you have an address, a place of birth or a next of kin.

    Regards

    Tralena

Hi Tralena - not sure of his address, but place of birth was Nottingham, and next of kin would be his wife, Charlotte Jennie Brown. I've looked at all the Harry Browns on Ancestry till I've gone cross-eyed!

      Thanks for trying

I've found the entry - it's in the medals roll index, so unfortunately not much more info. Thanks to all who looked.

Glad to hear you found it.

A lot of WW1 records were destroyed, could be your Grandfather's records were among them.
