  • can you read the place of wedding?

    hi,

    can anyone read the place of wedding - marriage solemized at the orthodox meeting house in the parish of ????

    i thought it may have been Kilmore, co down BUT i now cant see that the word is kilmore. the grrom was from saintfield co.down and the bride from barnamaghery kilmore.

    It says Saintfield, doesn't it? Saint something.
    or am I looking at the wrong bit?

          is that ALL the places in and around saintfild co, down?

            i think the 2nd or 3rd letter is a definate "i" as there is a dot.

              I think its a twirly' K ' followed by I

              They are all the parishes in County Down, according to Google

                            i think you maybe right that its a "K" and as i thought Kilmore. the reason for this is the person that did the marriage was a "moses black" i have typed this into google with kilmore and he was a minister at the "Kilmore Presbyterian Church" in 1836.

                            i have sent the new minister a message. hopefully he will get back to me.

                                  just like to say thank you for help. it is the correct church, the minister rang me to confirm this and he checked the info i gave him with the record book for marriage and it is there.

                                  the minister who did the marriage - moses black, was at the church from 1836 through to 1876. and this was what helped him link them.
