  • Can anyone find Edwin in 1891 please?

I am trying to find Edwin J(oseph) Paines in 1891 census. He was born in Sept qtr 1869 in Kensington, London and was married to Ellen Pink in Fulham, London in March qtr 1890. Their son George Edwin was born June qtr 1890 in Fulham, London.
I have found Ellen, mistranscribed as Pines, and her son George, lodging with Mary & Olive Pink (mistranscribed as Peick) in Hammersmith, London, but no sign of Edwin. Although it isn't stated, I think Mary & Olive may be relatives of Ellen.

    Can anyone find Edwin please?

Forgot to add that I have Edwin with the family in 1901 in Hammersmith with 4 more children, but can't find any of them in 1911.
I have Edwin's death in Brentford district in 1933.

Thanks Amy, I found those as well but I don't think either are him.
He was a stonemason - I wonder where he could have been when the census was taken?

        Hello!

I also haven't a subsription (you'll have to do the detail yourself I'm afraid.. :(), but I have found, putting in the search Edward *NES, 1867-1871, Kensington:

Edward BARNES born 1869 Middlesex, living in Middlesex (alone)
Edward BARNES born 1869 Middlesex, living in Middlesex (alone) (these two are obviously different people)
Edward HAINES born 1867 Middlesex, living in Middlesex (alone)
Then there is a man called JONES, but that is an unlikely mistranscription.
Edward BARNES born 1870 Middlesex, living in Middlesex

Putting instead Edwin only gives a result of

Edward BARNES born 1871 Middlesex (unlikely)

I don't know, but they all look plausible, especially HAINES. I won't bet on it though.

Oh yes, and putting in Edward/Edwin P*NES did not work at all.

Hi, not found in 1891, but a possible in 1911 might be Edward Paines in Brentford registration district.
The children look a reasonable match to the 1901.

Thank you, thank you ,thank you
              That is them
Very puzzling though as Edward describes himself as a widower, but I haven't found his wife's death. I'll have to have another look for it.
