I've just been searching 'Trove' - thanks to Sunny Kate for the pointer!

My wife's g-grandfathers brother (Noel Veasey Jackson, born 1902) apparently emigrated to Australia and wrote and played piano for the silent films.

Trove has picked up a couple of songs he was involved in: 'Jack and Jill went up the wooden hill' and 'For old times sake'.

I wonder whether these titles mean anything to those of you in Australia?

    Thanks for reading!
    Kind regards,
    William

Hi - There is mention of Noel in the Music Australia site - http://www.musicaustralia.org/apps/M...B1264939984793
They might be worth an e mail. I wonder if you can get the recording(s) somewhere.
There's also the National Film and Sound Archives http://www.nfsa.gov.au/the_collectio...ian_music.html
    Sorry - I don't know the songs...

Wulliam, sorry but the songs are unfamiliar to me too - although I see they were around in my childhood.LOL
Do you know what state Noel was living in at the time?
